Peterborough, Ontario: Enjoy A Relaxing Holiday With Kids And Family
Peterborough is a recreational city to visit with family and kids. The first city from Canada that is used electric streetlights. We actually rented electric cars with my friend Chris who owns https://www.thinkmaids.com/ in DC. This beautiful city was a blast to drive around & experience it’s downtown culture. It is placed between Ottawa and Toronto. There are naturally beautiful parks and kid-friendly attractions. The city has a lot of offer to kids and adult alike. Check out the list of things that you should do when you are in the city.
- Riverview Park and Zoo
Take your kids to the zoo, the most popular attraction in this city. The best part about this park cum zoo is that it is open all throughout the year. Moreover, it offers free admission. Here, you will find 45 different species of animals. I took my kids on a train ride offered by this park and they simply loved it.
- Jackson Park
To untangle the drudgeries of daily life, I visited the perfect relaxing spot, Jackson Park. Trust me, this is a natural gem. Do not forget to check out the Pagoda Bridge. You can also take part in various activities such as running, hiking, or cycling in the park’s trail.
- Art Gallery of Peterborough
Are you an art enthusiast? Check out the Art Gallery of Peterborough. The entry is free and has more than 1,400 art pieces. These include sculptures, prints, photography, and paintings. If you are lucky, you witness a temporary exhibition. This is a place for people of all ages.
- Petro Glyphs Provincial Park
Your trip to Canada would be incomplete if you do not take a walk through this park. There are about thousand rock carvings which are known to be century old. If you want to take in some more of nature, you can go hiking. The McGinnis Lake was a memorable spectacle. What amazed me was that the layers of water on the lake don’t intermix.
